This 4-part series is designed to help you elevate your working knowledge of any wine & food program but is also perfect for the enthusiast looking to advance their home pairings.
This class includes an interactive element, and you'll have an opportunity to purchase spice kits & wine from Corkbuzz. We welcome your participation in the discussion, but it is not necessary to purchase spices or wine from us to join.
Monday 8/3 - Class 1) Salt & Acidity. Recommended wines are Chablis, Champagne, and California Chardonnay. Recommended spices are herbed salt and lemon, and mustard vinaigrette.
Monday 8/10 - Class 2) Fat & Tannin. Recommended wines are Pinot Noir, Barolo or Barbaresco, and Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Recommended spices are olive oil infusion and mayonnaise infusion.
Monday 8/17 - Class 3) Heat & Sweet. Recommended wines are California Zinfandel, German Spätlese Riesling, Port, Madeira, or similar style. Recommended spices are mustard brown sugar rub and BBQ sauce.
Monday 8/24 - Class 4) Wine Program Management. Topics include; understanding profitability, basic wine law, import and distribution, the relationship between buyers & vendors, inventory, service, and building a wine list. Recommended wines are 3 examples of the same grape from 3 Different Price Points/Regions - Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa, Bordeaux and Washington State are good examples
