Tour of Italy Wine Pack

When ancient Greek seafarers first explored Italy 3,000 years ago, they immediately named it "Enotria," or "Land of Vines," and it wasn't easy to pick just three wines from a country with an estimated 2,000 different grape varieties! These are three longtime favorites, from the far South, the Center, and the North, starting with an unique grape only found in Sicily, the Centonze Frappato. Farmed organically, this is a lighter-bodied red, with rose petal, fresh strawberry, and black pepper notes and mild, soft tannins. No wine represents Tuscany, or indeed Italy, more than Chianti Classico, and our pick here comes from Castellare in Castellina and winemaker Alessandro Cellai. Mostly Sangiovese, this showcases the grape's bright acidity and pure black cherry fruit along with violet and cedar character. We'll finish with a trek up to the Piedmont in northwestern Italy, and feature Barolo from the Langhe hills. 100% Nebbiolo crafted by the lovely Vajra family, with all the structure, earthiness, and complexity that make Barolo the "Wine of Kings, and the King of Wines!"
