USQ I Regional Profile: Sonoma

13 E. 13th Street, New York 10003

Sonoma is one of California’s most historical, diverse, and revered wine making regions. Often overshadowed by its famous neighbor, Napa Valley, in this class Sonoma will get the respect it deserves. We’ll cover history, terroir, climate, geography, AVA classifications, recent developments, and taste 6 examples like Chardonnay or Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley, Zinfandel from Dry Creek Valley, Cabernet from Alexander Valley, Syrah from Sonoma Coast, or even  “new wave” neo-classical blends being made from extremely old vineyard sites being recovered in the county. We’ll discuss top producers, and their styles, so that you’ll leave with confidence when you head to your local wine shop or order a bottle at the bar.
