USQ I Blind Tasting Red Varietals

Whether a seasoned blind taster or wine novice, hone your deductive tasting skills in this blind tasting class focusing on just classic red wines of the world. You’ll learn how to tell the difference between classic grape varietals based on three elements of wine: slight, nose and palate. We’ll discuss how climate, weather, terroir, shape the wine in the glass, as well as wine making decisions such as maceration, use of oak (or not), and time in barrel and in bottle craft the finished wine in the glass. 6 wines will be assessed, with a selection of Murray’s Cheese.
