Union Square | Old World vs. New World: Pinot Noir Edition

13 E. 13th Street, New York, NY 10003

Pinot Noir has likely been grown in Burgundy for more than 2,000 years, but producers in the New World are making iterations of the classically French variety that are rivaling some of the most coveted wines that Burgundy has to offer. The terms “Old World” and “New World” are often discussed when tasting wine, especially when deciphering the location of the wine’s origin.

The differences are derived from different wine making practices, location, climate, and the effect of the land (terroir) on the grapes and wine itself. So does this really alter the taste and style of a single variety that much? Yes - in this class you will learn the key differences between Old and New World Pinot Noir. Join us as we put our favorite expressions of Pinot Noir head to head, to discover which comes out on top.

Join us at the bar for a glass of wine and dinner the day of class and receive 10% off your check.

Live wine classes are led by Corkbuzz Sommeliers and last 90 minutes. Class includes 6 (2 ounce) pours of wine, printed materials, and complimentary cheese. Guests will be seated at communal tables. Please refrain from wearing heavy fragrances to class.
