It takes the perfect conditions, misty mornings, and dry warm afternoons for this benevolent rot to take hold. What develops is a concentration of fruit, flavors, and unctuous sweetness that has been lusted after since the first wine made from this fruit. We'll travel the regions of the world-renowned for this style, Barsac, Sauternes, Monbazillac, Quarts de Chaume, Coteaux du Layon, Tokaji, and discuss how styles like Spätlese, Trockenbeerenausle, Ruster Ausbruch, and more. You'll learn about the techniques in the vineyard and winery, typical flavors, and famous producers of this style.
