There’s much more to New Zealand than Lord of the Rings, tall mountains and Sauvignon Blanc. These two islands show an enormous diversity of grapes and styles crafted. We’ll traverse the islands from north to south, stopping to learn about Chardonnay in Kumeu River, Merlot in Hawkes Bay, the great whites of Gisborne, Riesling in Nelson, Sauvignon Blanc in Marlborough, Pinot Noir in Central Otago, and more. Along the way we’ll discuss history, appellations, wine law, grape varieties and favorite producers.
