Corkbuzz Online | American Wine History Part 1: 1650s-1950s

We're diving deep into the History of America Wine in this two part series, perfect for celebrating the upcoming 4th of July holiday. We'll learn all about how history has shaped the wine regions of today, beginning with the Jamestown settlement, the divergence in history of wine production on the east and west coasts, how the US saved the world from phylloxera, how prohibition nearly brought our fledgling wine industry to its demise and the key players in the US winemaking history, that paved the way and set the stones for what would become. We'll discuss wine law, geography, geology, migration and the key players and names to know in wine that were and are still today important.

Zoom links will be sent via email on the morning of the class. Follow-up notes are sent the following day.
