It is said that, “Burgundy (Bourgogne) is a holy grail for wine geeks: a region impossible to master, impenetrable to the casual observer, and endlessly fascinating.” In this exciting, introductory class, we’re exploring the two most popular grape varietals of Burgundy: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Burgundy is home to an array of exciting provinces, each of which produce a different iteration of these infamous grape varietals. In addition to geography and climate, we will discuss AOP wine laws and regulations, grapes, food and wine pairings, key concepts like négociants, and we’ll taste an incredible lineup of wines from some of Burgundy’s most coveted wine regions.
